Kalka-Pipalyatjara IPA was declared in 2010, and is an area of approximately 580,000 ha in the far north-western corner of South Australia. The IPA includes parts of the Tomkinson and Mann Ranges. There is a wild population of the [Vulnerable] Black-footed Rock-wallaby Warru (Petrogale lateralis) within the IPA, which is managed by the APYLM Warru program. IPA Rangers have been managing and maintaining soaks and rockholes across the IPA, as well as looking at establishing sites and matching photos from European explorers in the early 1900s.
