The Antara - Sandy Bore IPA was declared in 2011, covering approximately 846,000 ha, south of Mimili Community. The north of the IPA is around the Everard Ranges, while the south is covered by sand plains and dune country. The IPA is home to the rare Everard Garland Lily, or Apita (Calostemma abdicatum), with two new populations identified by IPA Rangers in 2014. The IPA manages the Victory Well camping area where it hosts annual cultural exchanges of school students from Adelaide. The IPA is supported by Working On Country Rangers, Margaret Dodd, and her husband Sammy, who was awarded the 2013 Kevin McLeod Mentoring Award for demonstrating outstanding support for others in IPA-related work.
